“I am the bread of life…”
There are seven “I am’s” proclaimed by Jesus in the book of John. In chapter 6 Jesus fed bread to about five thousand people, the next day the people began looking for Jesus. Where the looking for Jesus because of the miraculous sign of the feeding of so many people or where they looking to be fed again.
According to Jesus they where simply looking to be fed again, “I tell you the truth you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.” (John 6:26). All the people wanted was the bread, they did not understand the Jesus is the bread. The word bread in “I am the bread of Life” means sustainer. Jesus is the sustainer in your life. He is the one who died to give us a life of eternity. All we have to do is believe in Jesus and keep striving to do his will, which is God’s will, in our life.
When we face challenges at work or a person comes up to us and confronts us with an outlandish accusation. What do we do? Do we go to Jesus and ask for help or do we look upon ourself to handle our response. How do we ask Jesus for help right in the middle of a disagreement? We are able to mentally handle issues that come up in our life when Jesus is the center of our life. He sustains us through everything, all we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ.
